Another day and yet another ReviewMe sponsored post! And oddly enough, this is another single post review for Architectural Classics Blog… only this time instead of cats opening doors its a blog post about the 7 Biggest Chandeliers in the World. Much like my previous review of this site, this one will once again be limited to just one post and not the site as a whole. This is actually a shame since I think the layout of this blog’s parent site is actually quite good and deserves more credit than the blog itself is getting but alas this is not the case. Now let’s get into the “nitty gritty” as they say:
Layout
Since this is the same layout that I reviewed just a few days ago, there’s really very little to say about it that I haven’t already said honestly. The layout is still bland in color and form but lends itself to easy reading. On the plus side, this story not only has pictures of all the chandeliers they list but even video clips of some of them. There are still no ads to be seen but, as I mentioned before, this isn’t unusual since the blog is obviously setup to be a traffic draw for their main site where they sell door knobs and handles. I really wish I could say more about the layout at this point but unfortunately I’m limited to discussing only this one blog post.
Content
While I’m not much of a chandelier fan, I did find the content of this blog post to be interesting. I was surprised by this honestly but the author of the story kept things interesting by not only going into the history of many of the items but also translating the cost/size into terms that people can relate to, i.e. one of the chandeliers cost $1.5 million to produce in 1920… which was an unimaginable amount of money back then. The pictures of the chandeliers are all very clear and well labeled. Some of the descriptions even include video which is a great way to really give you a feeling of the sheer size of these objects. Overall, this is a great read even if you don’t think it sounds all that interesting initially.
Final Thoughts
While I wouldn’t normally read a blog post with the title of “7 Biggest Chandeliers in the World“, I’m glad I did in this case. It was a good read with some really cool information. Although I said previously that I wouldn’t be reading the Architectural Classics Blog regularly, I may have to reconsider this now given this article. Who knew chandeliers could be so interesting?
