ContextWeb is the next in line on my now rather consistent paid reviews via ReviewMe.com. Who is ContextWeb you might ask? Basically their yet another online advertising company but the difference here is they only serve very large sites, i.e. anyone in the comScore top 250 sites or sites with over 10 million page impressions a month. Not only do they serve up high-precision, real-time contextual advertising for large sites but they also allow anyone to setup an advertiser account so they can place their ads on those sites. To get an idea of the sheer size of the network your ads would be running on just consider this:
In January 2007, ContextWeb provided 2.8 billion ad impressions to over 53 million unique users!
That’s some impressive numbers folks! And those numbers are what allowed them to offer the first true online ad exchange which they’re calling ADSDAQ. The idea behind ADSDAQ is that publishers and advertisers of all types and sizes can now offer and buy what they need in an open market environment. Just like the stock market, it’s your basic “bid” and “ask” situation… only with online advertising. Advertisers set their “bid” price and publishers set their “ask” price. When the two match, a deal is made! It doesn’t get any simpler than that. If you still need a clearer picture, check out this post on the ContextWeb blog for more info.
