As most of you know, I’m a huge Halo fan and Halo 3 has taken up a huge amount of my time lately (as you can tell by my lack of presence here on the blog as of late… sorry). For those of you out there who are also Halo 3 fans, you’ll know that there are 13 skulls to find which have various effects that you can turn on or off in your campaign. Some of these effects are silly (headshotting a grunt makes the sound of children cheering and makes confetti shoot out of the grunts body as he dies) and others make the game more difficult/interesting (like doubling the life of your enemies or only make your enemies more efficient at avoiding your grenades). The main thing these skulls do though is allow for multipliers in the campaign scoring meta-game which helps you acquire some new achievements (and some new armor as well). So you want to collect all the skulls to make this easier… or just to brag that you got them all.
As I mentioned earlier, there are also terminals hidden throughout the game that give you more insight into the Halo back story and add to the overall story arc as well. These terminals also unlock an achievement (called Marathon Man) so you’ll want to find all of them as well. Some are easy to stumble across while others are very difficult to find and will only work if you complete a certain series of tasks properly. I’ve only found three of them in-game on my own and those were completely by accident as I was just working my way through the campaign.
That said, here’s a video I found last night that details not only the location of the first 12 skulls but also the location of all the terminals needed to get the Marathon Man achievement. The video does a great job of showing you not only the locations of everything but it even breaks it down by mission for you and gives you all the info you need to make sure you can get each item.
