Busy day yesterday…

by Mike on February 2, 2007

Sorry for the lack of presence here yesterday but I had a full day and no time to update the site other than the daily weight update for my diet. I spent from 8am to 5pm at yet another Microsoft event but this one was work related. Basically it was a informational event about Windows Vista and Office 2007 for IT professionals. It was ok I guess… nothing special. Been to these things many times before and they always work out the same: learn a little, bored a lot, the lunch sucks, you get some free software (in this case it was a copy of Office 2007 Professional). All in all I guess there are worse ways to spend a day. Anyway, had that all day so no time to blog there.

I get home around 5:30pm (the event was only 20 mins from my house… nice!) and immediately change clothes to head out with my wife to the Village Wine Cellars in Lebanon, Ohio, for her Dayton OAC meeting (she’s the vice president of the club). I brought along the laptop so I could work on her club’s new website some but alas the place had no wireless internet. Luckily I was able to find a nearby wifi hotspot that was unprotected and was able to log on finally. I spent the next hour or so working on the site while they had their officers meeting and then we finally got down to some serious wine tasting and drinking! We ended up closing the place the down and then headed out to a little restaurant called Wild Bill’s New American Grille for some dinner before we headed home. It was a fun time and I was able to get a lot of work on their site done. It’s always good when you can mix business and pleasure!

As you can see, I had no time to post anything up here but I do apologize nonetheless. I probably won’t be writing anything up tonight either since I’m working on getting in my three hours of in-game time in Halo 2 as a way to get into the Halo 3 beta. If you have no idea what I’m talking (and you actually care), click HERE for an explanation. That said, I’m hoping to have time on Saturday to finally get around to my Vista upgrade before I head to Dayton for the evening to bowl. If I do get the time, I’ll be sure to write up a post about the experience and how things went.
