Once again this year I was stuck at home today due to a winter storm. The southern Ohio area was covered in several inches of snow and ice leading to power outages for over 120,000 people in the Cincinnati, Ohio, area (including my house unfortunately). In the end, the power was off for roughly eight hours which allowed the temperature in our house to dip down to 51 degrees! My wife actually drove to her mother’s house in Dayton, Ohio, to get a kerosene heater to help heat the house but alas by the time of her return the power had come back on. The worst part of this was really that I had planned to go have lunch with my wife today and surprise her with some flowers (she loves Gerber daisies) at work for Valentine’s Day, but due to neither of working today that kinda fell through. We still ended up going out later in the day for a nice dinner but I never did get to find her some flowers which makes me feel horrible. Hopefully she’ll understand and forgive me… hopefully. Either way, this day sucked and yet again snow was the culprit. I hate snow.
